If they were to follow a Product Market Fit (PMF) scheme—realizing they aren’t trying to create a salad chain necessarily, but identifying key ways to improve their actual product like reducing sugar, sodium, calories, and carcinogens and increasing quality controls—they would see much greater returns. When I worked on Wall Street, I was admittedly a fish out of water.While I loved playing an active part in the global capital markets by trading billions of shares, I always seemed to know that it wasn't a long-term home for me.Over the past 12 years, I've come to realize that my home is on Main Street,and that I can have a bigger impact on the world from Main Street than from anywhere else.I have the blessing of loving what I do.When I walk through the front door of Lehi Bakery, I love that I get toworkshoulder-to-shoulder with talented bakers, creative decorators, and a slew of 'green' 16-year olds at the front counter.Our donuts get served at local youth soccer games.Our pies and dinner rolls line countless Thanksgiving dinner tables.Our cakes get served at birthday parties, corporate events, and weddings.We are deeply ingrained in the daily lives of our local community, and I take so much pride in that.So, despite our world getting increasinglymore transient, I believe there is unique value in a Main Street bakery. And that is why it is my goal to make Lehi Bakery "America's Hometown Bakery" so that we can help further establish and restore the magic of Main Street across America.Today, we start construction on our Saratoga Springs UT store (opening January 2024) and purchase land in Cedar Hills UT (expected opening September 2024).Our goal is to make these stores staples in their respective communities, serving day-in and day-out as much as we can.But three bakeries and their associated impact is not the end goal.With one quality real estate purchase at a time, we plan on expanding to 8 bakeries by the end of 2026, and to at least 50 bakeries by 2034.To me, that will mean that we can positively impact at least 50 communities with timeless, quality products and the type of hospitality that you would expect from your hometown bakery. While we will have scale, we will still view each product, customer, team, and community individually.These are big goals.But I'm not leaving anything on the table in this life.It is time to make an impact.And maybe at some point, life will come full circle and we will see Lehi Bakery publicly listed on the global capital markets.Only time will tell.#utah #bakery #smallbusiness #donuts #utahcounty #cake #mainstreet #wallstreet

Day 8️⃣1️⃣ of 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣I tend to reflect a lot on Sundays.Today, I reflected that:1. It’s been 5 years since I started anything “entrepreneurial”; Buy a domain, create a brand etc2. If you count small non-profit projects, I’ve done about 3 projects starting from “zero”, and “optimized” 1-2 that I took over as the lead.3. Every time I do something repetitive, I am faster - from the first time setting up a persona (took me months before realizing I need one!), to the umpteenth emails to community.4. I make mistakes. But I have gotten SO MUCH FASTER at getting over them. What’s done it done. Create a process to avoid it again, and move on (takes all of 1 min now, vs I would brood on it for weeks).I guess you could say, I’ve come a long way :)Another Sunday feeling pumped for Monday!!!
